EDFU 3007: Social Foundations of Education

The course includes an analysis of the social sciences and their relationship with the educational process, and of the school as a social institution. Includes a study of the cultural heritage of man
and the functions of education in terms of preserving and improving it, the integration of
education with the life and institutions of the community and the human group, conduct of
groups concerning school problems, the social role of the teacher, and the relationship between
social changes and school.

Reflection:

This class helped me understand how historical, cultural, and social factors shape the education system. I learned about the roles of equity, diversity, and social justice in schools, and how these issues impact both teaching and learning. This course encouraged me to reflect on my role as an educator and the importance of creating inclusive, supportive environments for all students.
