Classwork:
Community Service Project
“The Formula of Companionship” is a community service project designed to help third- and fourth-grade students develop teamwork and positive social skills. Through hands-on science and math activities, students practiced cooperation, support, and problem-solving together, creating a more collaborative classroom environment. This project was done by me and my partner, Nayeli Cardé.
Reflection:
The practice teaching experience provided an opportunity to apply instructional strategies, manage a classroom environment, and assess student learning within elementary science. Throughout the semester, lessons were designed using visual supports, hands-on activities, and varied assessments to promote understanding of scientific concepts. The experience demonstrated the importance of analyzing student performance to adjust instruction and meet diverse learning needs. It also highlighted the role of clear communication, organization, and consistency in maintaining an effective learning environment. Overall, the practicum offered meaningful insight into the teaching process and supported the development of essential professional skills.
